Small business owners are known for their hard work, but according to a February 2013 survey, the hours spent on the business do not come at the detriment of personal relationships. Of more than 1,100 small business owners surveyed, 61 percent indicated they are married, and only 20 percent said that work-life balance was an issue for their significant others. Additionally, 32 percent reported that owning their own company has actually improved their family life. Respondents even ranked friends and family as more important than success of their business, and 44 percent said that they value personal relationships more than their business.
